We're still here!

I am really sorry for not updating this sooner. It's been two weeks! I've been getting a few calls asking if the twins are here yet... Nope! I can't believe it. I am 37 weeks that's almost unheard of for twins. We found out last week that the boy is 6 lb. 13 oz. and the girl is 5 lb. 12 oz.! Considering that they grow about 1/2 a pound a week I am wondering how much more I can take. Every night I go to bed thinking "Hopefully I will wake up in the middle of the night and have to go to the hospital." And every morning I say, "Are you serious?" We did think that we were going to have the babies last Wednesday (August 6th). John went to work and I called him around 4 and said you had better get home I think we need to go to the hospital. Luckily my sweet "adopted" little sister McCall was at my house helping me out. John came home and we headed the hospital. My contractions were every 3-4 minutes and they were so painful! I was at a 3+ and 90%. My nurse was really nice and kept checking me every hour. Every hour there was no change. My Dr. was out of town so the Dr. on call told her to give me some morphine and something else. Well it made the contractions not as painful and they ended up sending me home. I was so mad! Today I had my last Dr. appointment because I will be induced next week (Thursday, August 21). Of all days I will be having them on my birthday! It's funny because every time I go in for my appointment my nurse will say, "well, we probably won't see you next time because you'll have the babies by then." And every week I see them. I don't mean to complain, but there really isn't any more room for the babies and having contractions for 2 weeks straight isn't my idea of fun. I really do feel blessed though that the babies are as big as they are! That was my biggest worry. Ella was only 5 lb. 13 oz. and she was full term! I am thrilled that the babies are big and healthy.

Here is a picture of me today (37 weeks).

Ella is giving loves to her baby brother and sister

I have totally been thinking about you and wanting to call, but I didn't know if you'd be all busy with having the twins or not! I am so calling you tomorrow!

You are such a trooper! I can't believe that you have made it so long. It is quite an accomplishment, and you are doing your little babies so much good. I know it will happen soon.

I thought for sure you would've had the babies by now, that is so awesome!! I can't believe you've made it so far! Congrats on that, way cool. Your belly looks so cute too, I think I looked like that but I only had one, haha. :)

I too think that picture of Ella hugging your belly is so cute. Have you guys thought of names for your new bundles?
